Care Leavers App - On the road in October
October sees the focusgov team hitting the road with the newest version of our Care Leavers App. We will be at NAFIS in London on October 9th, the Westminster Care Leavers Local Offer Briefing on October 10th and we've packed our buckets and spades for three days by the sea at NCAS 2017 in Bournemouth.
These events are a good opportunity to show the work we have been doing on the Care Leavers App following our recent engagement workshops with local authorities and care leaver groups, and we would like to thank everyone who took part and who have contributed to the development of a number of exciting new App features, including:
The most requested feature from our participation sessions was adding support for multiple languages. App users can now choose to view content in a range of languages with translations automatically generated.
Alongside the existing events calendar, care leavers can now use the App to search for support groups and non-statutory services; making them even more aware of the support available to them locally.
Local authorities can now publish messages and alerts to App users, ideal for informing care leavers about new entitlements and legislation.
We will soon be announcing some exciting news about our new content partners, who will be working with us and providing specialist, expert and up-to-date information for the App, reducing content maintenance for local authorities.
The Care Leavers App can help local authorities meet new duties from the Keep On Caring Strategy and is part of our overall solution for Care Leavers, which also includes a Personal Advisor Hub and the Care Leavers Local Offer.
If you'd like to know more about any of our work or projects then please get in touch, or if you're in Bournemouth next week then come and see us at NCAS (Stand E10), we might even buy you an ice cream....
